Summary
The History gadget shows a list of the objects that have been the current context, in descending chronological order. The object that is the current context at the moment is highlighted and at the top. Selecting another entry in the list makes that object the current context again.
The History gadget doesn't show attribute history: to see that, either select 
next to it or edit the attribute and select History.
Gadget Action Menu Items
Clear History
The Clear History command will empty the history list. This will affect all workspaces.
Options
The Options dialog lets you specify how many previous history states you want this gadget to display.
