Information valid from AMI version 8.0 initial release

Summary

The To Do List gadget displays objects at workflow states you own.

Select Search to display the list.

Basic Options

Four checkboxes determine which objects appear in the To Do List. At least one of these checkboxes must be ticked in order to Search, unless you have selected a custom Filter.

  • Object workflow status—Populate the To Do List with objects with the relevant object workflow status.
  • Global attribute workflow status—Populate the To Do List with objects with the relevant global attribute workflow status.
  • Local attribute workflow status—Populate the To Do List with objects with the relevant local attribute workflow status.
  • Attribute's Needs Translation flag—Populate the To Do List with objects with the Needs Translation flag set.

Within

You can limit search results to those objects found within a specific structure point. Select Set to make a selected object instance the Within structure point.

Filter

By default the To Do list results are modified only by the settings above. However, there is also an optional Filter drop-down control that shows custom search filters defined for the gadget in the current workspace. For example, a filter could search only for objects in events.

Custom filters are set up by specifying an appropriate AQL string in the Workspace Editor. Be careful when writing them not to accidentally disable the Within field: if your AQL doesn't start with something like "FIND BELOW " or "FIND CHILD ", the search will be across all structures rather than below the Within structure point.

The default choice is "No Filter", and if no filters are defined, this will also be the only choice available.

If a filter is selected the four checkbox options are ignored.

Gadget Action Menu Items

 Copy

Copies the currently selected object instance(s) to the clipboard, allowing them to be pasted into other Gadgets.

 Reset

Clears the parameters and search results.

 Add to List...

This item is only enabled when the user has selected one or more objects. It brings up a dialog with two dropdown controls. The first shows all the top level List structures; the second shows all the child objects of the List selected in the first control. Select OK to add copies of the selected objects into that List child object.

 Add to Previous List

Like Add to List... but it automatically uses the same List object as before.

 Set Sort Attributes...

Allows you to select attributes to display in the list. You can sort the list of results by selecting the headings.
