Introduction

This template is used to build the homepage. The homepage will represent the entry point of the CXO-Cockpit and will give the end-user a quick overview how the company is performing against it most important KPI’s.

Parameters

The report parameters define the look & feel and behavior of a report. On the screenshot below you can see the parameters numbers. These numbers refer to the parameters as displayed in the Basic Parameters and Advanced Parameters table. Next to basic and advanced parameters there are also /wiki/spaces/CXO/pages/2806776440

Basic Parameters

  1. Rows
MandatoryThis list defines the rows the report. This list influences most of the look and feel of the report. All list formatting options are supported.
2. Reference CategoriesMandatoryA list of items that will be used as Reference Categories in the report. Each item can be a combination of members from the dimensions associated with the list (usually Category, Year and/or Period. Formulas are not allowed.

3. Default Selected Item

Indicates the /wiki/spaces/CXO/pages/2806776443 from the List that will be selected / highlighted upon opening of the report

4. Label Base Category

Mandatory

Dynamic Label that can combine the description of dimension-members and free text. The member-description can be obtained by putting the 3-digit dimension abbreviation between square brackets (e.g., [CAT] for the Category dimension). Don't use the [ or ] character in free text.

5. Show Periodic/YTD columns

Mandatory

This parameter allows you to select a different setup of the home screen. See next paragraph.

6. Variance Style

Mandatory

The variance style has the following options: Background, Bar, Border, Box, Font, None, TrafficLight, TrendArrow

7. Replace Blanks By

Not Mandatory

Enter a character or string that you want to see instead if missing values. Otherwise leave empty

8. Palette

Mandatory

The palette which will be used to display the data of the report

9. Use Inline Drill

Not Mandatory

Provides possibility to apply inline drill

10. Show Variance as Better/Worse

Not Mandatory

Better/Worse variance representation can be used to display positive variance with positive sign and negative variance with minus sign.

11. Default Selected Variance

Mandatory

Enter Variance % if you want to open a report with a variance percentage column. Enter Variance if you want absolute variance as a default view.

12. Variance Percentage Precision

Mandatory

This parameter defines the number of decimals used for presenting the numbers.

13. Base / Direct

Mandatory

Select Base if you want to see the base-members (or leave-members) under a certain parent-node (parent Entity, Product group, etc.). Choose Direct if you want to see the direct descendants (1st generation child-members).

14. Default Breakdown Dimension

Mandatory

The Breakdown dimension which will be displayed by default.

15. Variance Threshold

Mandatory

Threshold value for the Variance (e.g., Actual vs. Budget). If the Variance is less than this Threshold, then a neutral variance color is used (Orange). Otherwise Red (indicating an unfavorable variance) or Green (favorable variance) is used. Use e.g. -200;300 for an absolute threshold or -10%;20% for a relative threshold

16. Scale

Mandatory

This defines the scaling used in the report. Options are: Millions, Thousands, Unchanged (no scaling), Percentage. The last option multiplies the amount with 100 to show for example an amount of 0.75 from the source as '75%' in the CXO-Cockpit. The scale setting is the default for all data in the report, but can be overruled by a specific (non-default) scaling in the Member List. The scaling in the Member List can be overruled again by a specific (non-default) scaling in the Combined Dimension List.

17. Precision

Mandatory

This defines the number of decimals used for presenting the number. Options are 0-12. Similar to the Scale setting, the Precision setting is the default for all data in the report, but can be overruled by a specific (not -1) precision in the Member list. The scaling in the Member list can be overruled again by a specific (not -1) precision in the Combined Dimension List.

18. Frequency

This defines the frequency of the report. Options are: M (Monthly), Q (Quarterly), Y (Yearly) and User Defined.The frequency setting also impacts the options in the Point of View: Upon selecting M, the user can only select the Months. If you select Q, the user can only check Quarters.

19. Breakdown Sorting

Mandatory

Allows the control and sort sequence of variances of the Breakdown Elements in a report (e.g., Child-Entities, Products in a certain Product Group). Select the appropriate option from the predefined list.

20. Left Footer Text

Not Mandatory

Enter a text that will appear in the lower left part of the report. This is dynamic label where you can use dimension values like [VAL] or one or more of the listed static indicators.

21. Reference Category Position

Mandatory

Select the Position of the Reference Category ("Budget"). Left or Right of the Base Category ("Actual").

Show Periodic/YTD columns

By default the homepage shows with two blocks of data for periodic and YTD. By setting the 'Show Periodic/YTD columns' parameter to no, the homepage will look like this:
