Summary
The purpose of the Instance gadget is to list objects that have the same object id as the currently selected object, so that the user has a way to quickly swap between these instances. It can also be configured to display object workflow statuses.
Because there may be lots of instances to choose from, the user is able to use a filter to reduce this list of all instances down to the ones they are interested in.
Gadget Action Menu Items
Copy
The user can select one of the instances by ticking its checkbox. It can then be copied to the clipboard, allowing it to be pasted into other Gadgets. Note that only one instance can be selected at a time.
Add to List...
This item is only enabled when the user has selected one or more objects. It brings up a dialog with two dropdown controls. The first shows all the top level List structures; the second shows all the child objects of the List selected in the first control. Clicking the Okay button adds copies of the selected objects into that List child object.
Add to Previous List
Like 'Add to List...', but it automatically uses the same List object as before.
Set Up Filter...
Displays the Filter dialog. By default, the Instance Gadget does not show instances in completed events, document structures, or the bin. However, the filter provides options to show for all three of these. It also lets the user restrict the set of structure types to view instances in.
Enable Filter
Turns the filter on, showing only matching instances. After this, the menu option is renamed 'Disable Filter'.
