Information valid from AMI version 8.0 initial release

Summary

The To Do List gadget displays objects at workflow states you own.

Select Search to display the list.

Basic Options

There are four checkboxes controlling the objects to include in the To Do List. At least one of these checkboxes must be ticked in order to do a search, unless a custom filter has been selected from the Filter dropdown.

Object workflow status

Populate the To Do List with objects with the relevant object workflow status.

Global attribute workflow status

Populate the To Do List with objects with the relevant global attribute workflow status.

Local attribute workflow status

Populate the To Do List with objects with the relevant local attribute workflow status.

Attribute's Needs Translation flag

Populate the To Do List with objects with the Needs Translation flag set.

Within

The 'Within' area allows filtering of the To Do List to object instances underneath a specific structure point. To use it, navigate to the object to search within using another gadget (e.g. Browser, History) and click the 'Set' button in the 'Within' area.

Filter

By default the To Do list results are modified only by the four settings above. However, there is also an optional Filter drop-down control. As an administrator, it is possible to set up custom search filters in the workspace editor for users. For example, a filter could allow the user to filter the To Do List using Object Type, or ask for only objects in events.

Custom filters are set up by specifying an appropriate AQL string in the Workspace Editor. Be careful when writing them not to accidentally disable the 'Within' field: if your AQL doesn't start with something like "FIND BELOW " or "FIND CHILD ", the search will be across all structures rather than below the 'Within' object.

The default choice is "No Filter", and if no filters are defined, this will also be the only choice available.

If a filter is selected, the four basic options above are automatically disabled.

Gadget Action Menu Items

Copy

Copies the currently selected object instance(s) to the clipboard, allowing them to be pasted into other Gadgets.

Reset

Clears the parameters.

Add to List...

This item is only enabled when the user has selected one or more objects. It brings up a dialog with two dropdown controls. The first shows all the top level List structures; the second shows all the child objects of the List selected in the first control. Clicking the Okay button adds copies of the selected objects into that List child object.

Add to Previous List

Like 'Add to List...', but it automatically uses the same List object as before.
