Summary
The purpose of the Instance gadget is to list objects that have the same object id as Instance gadget lists instances of the currently selected object, so that the user has a way to you can quickly swap between these those instances. It can also be configured to display object the workflow statuses of those instances.
Because there may be lots of instances to choose from, the user is able to you can use a filter to reduce this list of all instances down to the ones they are interested inon the list.

Copy
The user can selectCopy
Select one of the instances by ticking its checkbox. It can then be copied to the clipboard, allowing it to be pasted into other Gadgetsgadgets. Note that only one instance can be selected at a time.
AddAdd to List...
This item is only enabled when the user has you have selected one or more objects. It brings up Opens a dialog with two dropdown controls. The first shows all the top level List structures; the second shows all the child objects of the List selected in the first control. Clicking the Okay button adds copies of Selecting OK links the selected objects into to that List child object, as new instances.
AddAdd to Previous List
Like 'Add to List...', but it automatically uses the same List object as before.
SetSet Up Filter...
Displays the Filter dialog. By default, the Instance Gadget gadget does not show instances in completed events, document structures, or the bin. However, the filter provides options to show for all three of these. It also lets the user restrict the set of structure types to view instances in.
Enable Filter
Turns the filter on, showing only matching instances. After this, the menu option is renamed 'Disable Filter'
You can also restrict instances by the type of structure they're in.
Enable Filter / Disable Filter
Toggles the filter.
