Detailed logging for CXO on SAP BW

Take the following steps to switch on detailed logging:

In the CXO-Designer:

In the Configurator tool, go to Configuration and select Web Site. Search for a tag with name “FlatFileListener”:

Go to the end of the line and make sure you fill in the word Information:

Press Save and click Yes on the request to start the Web service:

How to get the MDX queries of a report

(Re-)open the report.

In the Configurator, go to the Logs tab and choose MDX Logs. If you are already on this page, press the Refresh button (arrow)

You may notice that sometimes there are several queries per report: each object (table, graph, ..) on a report has its own query.

Select the query you want tot analyze.

To copy the query, right-click in the right area and select Copy:

Now you can paste the query in the MDXTEST transaction of the SAP GUI

Note that in the SAP GUI there might be session caching. If you execute a query the second time it may be (much) quicker because SAP remembers the query.

To do a honest test it is better to close the MDXTEST transaction and reopen it

Viewing the logs in CXO

Within the Configurator you can view the Logs generated for the CXO Website. First select a logging file (see the arrow; logging.log is the current one, the others are by date):

(note that if you start scrolling with your mouse-wheel you might scroll the selector instead of the file itself!)

By default, all errors, warnings and info-logs are shown. To limit the view to info-logs only, press the Error and Warning switch:
