Changing the password for MS service account

This article describes the steps you need to take when want to change the password for the service account that is used to run IIS processes and Windows services. After making these changes, the service account will use the newly entered password.

  1. Open the IIS manager tool on the application server(-s) that host the CXO website.

  2. After drilling down the menu on the left, click on “Application Pools“, Select the application pool for CXOCockpit and click on “Advanced Settings…“ in the menu on the right side.

     

  3. Drill down “Process Model“ and after selecting “Identity“, click on the button with the dots (…)

     

  4. A new window will open and you can click on “Set…“, Another window will open and you can enter the service account and the new password in here.

     

  5. After clicking “OK“ you can close the windows and open the Windows application Services.msc. For each of the the CXO services; Right click the row and select “Properties“

     

  6. Select the tab “Log On“ and change the value of both password fields to the new password.
