Information valid from AMI version 8.0 initial release
Summary
The User screen lets you view and modify user details. The User Group and User Name selectors at the top of the screen can be used to select a user, and populate the screen's panels with that user's details.
The User screen remembers changes made in all of its panels, and when you Apply changes all changes made in any of the panels will be saved - not just the panel that is currently open.
Panels in the User screen
Main
This panel contains basic information about the user.
Groups
This panel shows all of the existing User Groups, allowing you to add the current user to any number of groups.
Languages
This panel shows all of the Languages defined within Agility and allows you to select which ones the User has access to. The User's default language can also be defined here.
Workspaces
This panel shows all of the Workspaces defined within Agility and allows you to select which ones the User has access to. The User's default workspace can also be defined here.
Attributes
This panel shows a table of the attributes in the attribute set that is associated with User objects. You can both view and edit the attributes.
User Snapshot
The User Snapshot is a record of the state that AMI was in the last time a user accessed it. Usually this snapshot is recorded whenever the user logs out, but if changes are made in the User screen while the user is logged in to AMI their snapshot will not be updated when they next log out. This is to prevent users from inadvertently overwriting changes made in the User gadget.
Take care when editing the User Snapshot: if this is left in an invalid state the user may not be able to log in to AMI.
If this happens, empty their snapshot field completely. This will allow the user to log back in, but any preferences the user had set will be lost.
Menu Items
Add New User...
Select this option to open the Add User dialog. This dialog requires a few basic details to create a new user. Newly created users will appear in the currently selected User Group.
Disable User
This option allows you to disable the currently selected user. Disabled users can no longer log in to AMI or Agility Governance, and they are not displayed in the User screen. Their account will no longer count towards the number of users licensed for your system.
Disabled accounts may be re-enabled later.
Delete User
Completely remove the currently selected user.
If you delete a user then any metadata related to that user, such as "Created By", will no longer display their name.
Re-enable Users...
Select this option to see a list of all disabled users, then select the users you wish to re-enable.
