Introduction

The Hyperion Essbase OLAP connector creates a direct connection to

Hyperion Essbase.The following architecture picture shows the system components:

Connectivity

The connection to Essbase is managed in the /wiki/spaces/CXO/pages/2806776143 specify the following fields:

• Hyperion Essbase server: the name or IP address of the Essbase server
• Application: The name of the Essbase application
• Database: The name of the Essbase database
• Username: The name of the Essbase user that will be used to connect to Essbase, make sure that this user has no security restrictions
• Password: The password of the Essbase user that will be used to connect to Essbase.

Configure CXO

to run on Essbase

In order to

successfully run CXO

on an Essbase application the following additional configuration is required.

• Dimension Mapping: all of the CXO Core Dimensions need to be mapped
• Sometimes it is required to use Dimension Splits in order to get all required dimensions. Specify dimension splits first then map the dimensions.
• Set the Period Frequencies table
• Correct any Dimension Variable errors

*Note that EssbaseClient software needs to be installed on the application server.
