Introduction

This template is the most widely used and appreciated template in the CXO-Cockpit. It is mostly used for classic statements such as a profit and loss and balance sheet, with drill-down to the underlying detail. Upon selection of a line, the right top pane shows the trend over a number of time periods. Upon the selection of a column in the trend, the bottom section gives the detail with drill down to any dimension available.

Labels, Formats and Colors

SettingDescriptionMandatory

Label Base CategoryMandatory

Dynamic Label that can combine the description of dimension-members and free text. The member-description can be obtained by putting the 3-digit character dimension abbreviation between square brackets (e.g., [CAT] for the Category dimension). DonNote: When using free text, don't use the or character in free text.

6. Default Selected Variance

Not Mandatory

Enter Variance % if you want to open the report with a variance percentage column. Enter Variance if you want the absolute variance as a default view.

7. Variance Style

Mandatory"[" or "]" characters as these are reserved for Dynamic Label Expressions.

ScaleThis defines the scaling used in the report. Options are: Unchanged (no scaling), Thousands, Millions, Billions, Percentage. The last option multiplies the amount by 100 to show for example an amount of 0.75 from the source as '75%' in the CXO-Cockpit. The scale setting is the default for all data in the report, but can be overruled by a specific (non-default) scaling in the Member List.Yes
PrecisionThis defines the number of decimals used for presenting the number. Options are 0-12. Similar to the Scale setting, the Precision setting is the default for all data in the report, but can be overruled by a specific (not -1) precision in the Member list.Yes
Left Footer TextEnter a text that will appear in the lower left part of the report. This is dynamic label where you can use dimension values like [VAL] or one or more of the listed static indicators.Yes

8. Replace Blanks By

Not Mandatory

A character or a string which will be put instead of the missing value.

9. Use Inline Drill

Not Mandatory

Provides possibility to use inline drill for a list member.

10. Yes
Show Variance as Better/WorseNot MandatoryBetter/Worse variance representation can be used to display positive variance with positive sign and negative variance with minus sign.Yes

11. Default Selected Variance Percentage Precision

Mandatory

This defines the number of decimals used for presenting variance percentage.

12. Breakdown Member Depth Limit

Mandatory

This parameter determines the number of hierarchy levels you want to make available for each of the relevant breakdown-dimensions in the lower-right part of the report. Increasing this number may affect performance.

13. Default Breakdown Dimension

Mandatory

This value sets which dimension will be selected by default in the breakdown area.

14. Variance Threshold

Mandatory

Enter Variance % if you want to open the report with a variance percentage column. Enter Variance if you want the absolute variance as a default view.

No

Variance Percentage PrecisionDefines the number of decimals used for presenting the Variance Percentage values.Yes
Variance ThresholdThreshold value for the Variance (e.g., Actual vs. Budget). If the Variance is less than this Thresholdthe 1st threshold value, then a neutral variance color Red (indicating an unfavorable variance) is used (Orange). Otherwise Red (indicating an unfavourable variance) or Green (favourable . If the Variance is greater than the 2nd threshold value, then Green (favorable variance) is used. And if Variance is between the 2 threshold values, Orange (neutral variance) is used. Use e.g. , for example, -200;300 for an absolute threshold thresholds or -10%;20% for a relative threshold
