Introduction

When you want to benchmark one or more peer groups on an account or any particular KPI derived from the underlying CXO Data source, you can use this Template. This can be particular useful for instance for HQ facilities, because usually they would potentially not get access to this kind of underlying data due to the tight security of the source system. For benchmark purposes within the CXO-Cockpit this kind of data can be drawn out of the source system.

Parameters

The report parameters define the look & feel and behavior of a report. On the screenshot below you can see the parameters numbers. These numbers refer to the parameters as displayed in the Basic Parameters and Advanced Parameters table. Next to basic and advanced parameters there are also /wiki/spaces/CXO/pages/2806776440

Basic Parameters

ParameterMandatoryDescription
1. Item SelectorMandatoryA list of items that will be used as a Pick List in the report. Each item can be a combination of members from the dimensions associated with the list. Usually, the Account dimension is used.
2. Reference CategoriesMandatoryA list of items that will be used as Reference Categories in the report. Each item can be a combination of members from the dimensions associated with the list (usually Category, Year and/or Period. Formulas are not allowed.
3. Benchmark List 1MandatoryA list of items that represent Benchmark group 1 of the report. Each item can be a combination of members from the dimensions associated with the list; usually Entities.

Advanced Parameters

Parameter

Mandatory

Description

4. Default Selected Item

Not Mandatory

Indicates the /wiki/spaces/CXO/pages/2806776443 from the List that will be selected / highlighted upon opening of the report

5. Benchmark List 2

Not Mandatory

A list of items that represent Benchmark group 2 of the report. Each item can be a combination of members from the dimensions associated with the list; usually Entities.

6. Benchmark List 3

Not Mandatory

A list of items that represent Benchmark group 3 of the report. Each item can be a combination of members from the dimensions associated with the list; usually Entities.

7. Benchmark List 4

Not Mandatory

A list of items that represent Benchmark group 4 of the report. Each item can be a combination of members from the dimensions associated with the list; usually Entities.

8. Side Trend

Mandatory

List of items that determines the X-axis of the trend in the side-controls (usually associated with the Year and the Period dimension).

9. Label Base Category

Mandatory

Dynamic Label that can combine the description of dimension-members and free text. The member-description can be obtained by putting the 3-digit dimension abbreviation between square brackets (e.g., [CAT] for the Category dimension). Don't use the [ or ] character in free text.

10. Time Series

Mandatory

List of items that determines the X-axis of the chart; usually a Time-series associated with the Year and the Period dimension.

11. Label Benchmark Member

Mandatory

Dynamic Label that can combine the description of dimension-members and free text. The member-description can be obtained by putting the 3-digit dimension abbreviation between square brackets (e.g., [CAT] for the Category dimension). Don't use the [ or ] character in free text.

12. Label Benchmark 1

Mandatory

The label put as an identification of the Benchmark Group

13. Label Benchmark 2

Not Mandatory

The label put as an identification of the Benchmark Group

14. Label Benchmark 3

Not Mandatory

The label put as an identification of the Benchmark Group

15. Label Benchmark 4

Not Mandatory

The label put as an identification of the Benchmark Group

16. Breakdown Sorting

Mandatory

Allows the control and sort sequence of variances. Select the appropraite option from the pre defined list.

17. Variance Threshold

Mandatory

Threshold value for the Variance (e.g., Actual vs. Budget). If the Variance is less than this Threshold, then a neutral variance color is used (Orange). Otherwise Red (indicating an unfavourable variance) or Green (favourable variance) is used. Use e.g. -200;300 for an absolute threshold or -10%;20% for a relative threshold

18. Variance % Around Average

Mandatory

Variation % around the Benchmark average (determines the width of the grey area).
