Introduction

Users with Report Admin or Report Builder permissions can create new reports.
The new report can follow an existing template, i.e. have a predefined layout which it shares with other reports, or be created from scratch as Free Format Report. Free Format Reports can be converted in a second phase in Free Format Templates in order to create more reports wit the same layout.

Create a New Report

CXO-Cockpit supports three ways of creating a new report:

• Main Way: The admin should click on New Report Button next to the CXO Cockpit Logo which will bring up the Create New Report Window

• . This way allows both to create reports based on a template and Free Format Reports.
• Starting from an existing report: The admin should select the report in Open Report Panel, click on the gear and select 'Copy'. A new unpublished report will be created with exactly the same settings of the original report.
• Starting from a template: The admin should select the template in Open Report Panel (Reports by Template Tab), click on the gear and select 'Create New Report'. A new unpublished report will be created according to the selected template.

In the Create New Report Window, the Name, the Source System and Type of the Report are mandatory (marked with red) must be filled in before you can click on the OK button and create the report. 

There are two types of reports that can be created: Using an existing Template or a Free Format Report. The existing templates have a predefined layout with predefined controls. Free Format Report on the other hand, is a new report with an empty layout in which the admin can add controls by choice.
