Over the years, we’ve worked hard to provide our customers with standardized reporting solutions, and to drive collaboration between different users and reporting teams. Every new CXO Software customer receives 18 standard dashboard templates as part of their licensing package, which we have created based on the best reporting practices of selected users around the world.
Now, with CXO Catalog, we are going one stage further. This new feature of our software, which is free to existing license holders and a central part of the new iteration of CXO Software, 6.4, allows CXO users to directly share their best practice dashboard innovations with other organizations.

All new clean, modern, user interface that aids user adoption
CXO Software 20.3 comes with a completely redesigned user interface which has been shaped by extensive customer feedback and testing. The result is a modern, clean look where the focus is on the numbers and the user is always in control.
Highlights of this release include:
- Effortless navigation
- A focus on the numbers
- Enhanced collaboration
- Enriched report export features
Effortless Navigation
With a cleaner and more modern user interface, with CXO Software 20.3, users enjoy an effortless navigation experience so they are always in control. Key enhancements in this area include:
- Find your report or Storyboard faster
Enhancements to navigation see the addition of the Recent Reports and Recent Storyboards options, alongside improvements to search functionality to enable users to access any resource they need easily and quickly. - Know where you are in your Point-of-View (POV)
To ensure users always understand where they are in their report, a navigation path has been added to the POV selectors to make it easier to move up and down hierarchies. For example, this makes it easier for users in large organizations with multiple subsidiaries and different roll-up structures to see where they are when working with the Entity dimension. - See scaling and precision at the top of every report
A further enhancement sees scaling and precision moved to the top of the report, inside the POV, so it is always clear to the user exactly what data they are viewing. - Clearer selection of control elements
The user interface now makes it clearer to users where selecting an element in one control is determining the content of another control. For example, selecting an account in a table, could filter the values displayed in an adjacent chart.
CXO Catalog websiteCustomers can access the dashboard of CXO Catalog in a secure login area on the CXO Catalog website, where the reports can be downloaded and reviewed by leaving comments and giving it a ranking out of five.
CXO Catalog WizardAfter hitting the add button on the CXO Catalog website, the selected report will be added to your application. Automatically a wizard will open: just follow the different steps in the wizard, click on finish and the report is ready to be used!
Additional new features
Several new features are introduced in version 6.4 that are not only useful for CXO Catalog, but for CXO use in general!
Navigate to function for Image controlWe see that redirects are often used in our application, but redirects only worked with text. In version 6.4 we introduce redirects that work with images. Simply click on an image and you are redirected to another report or URL. This way we want to make the navigation inside CXO easier.
Donut ChartsWe already have the Pie chart control and we have extended that function with the option to create a Donut chart. Especially when you want to focus on a specific number in your Pie chart, you can use the Donut chart option to display the number in the middle of your Donut.
Variances in Bars and Lines ChartWe missed the option to show variances as positive / negative colors in Charts. But not anymore in version 6.4! The Variance formula that you normally could only use in tables, can now also be used in charts. Variances can be displayed as bars or as fill area!
Ranking listsIn this version we also introduce a new list type: Ranking lists. In CXO you can create rankings with MDX lists, but that is often not that easy as you have to know how to write the MDX script. With Ranking lists we now make ranking accessible for all report builders. |
