Introduction
The SAP BPC HANA connector uses the SAP HANA Data Provider for Microsoft ADO.NET which creates a direct connection to a SAP HANA cube. The following architecture picture shows the system components:
MDX
This connector generates internally MDX queries to retrieve the data from SAP HANA. Read more on MDX trouble shooting here: Turn on MDX Logging to investigate data or performance issues
Connectivity
The connection to SAP HANA is managed in the /wiki/spaces/CXO/pages/2806776143 specify the following fields:
- Hana server / port: the IP address or the server name of the HANA server and the port. /54 refers to port 35415.
- Schema: the Schema on the HANA server where the proper OLAP Views are stored
- Cube: the Cube-name
- Username: HANA db user authorized to access the Cube
- Password: the password for this user

Configure CXO
-Cockpitto run on SAP HANA
In order to successfully run CXO -Cockpit on an SAP HANA application the following additional configuration is required.
- Dimension Mapping: all of the CXO Core Dimensions need to be mapped
- Sometimes it is required to use Dimension Splits in order to get all required dimensions. Specify dimension splits first then map the dimensions.
- Set the Period Frequencies table
- Correct any Dimension Variable errors
